Components of Physical Fitness

Endurance The ability of one’s muscular strength to continue and last, especially despite difficult conditions. Ex. Running or swimming for a long time.

Flexibility The capacity of a joint or muscle to move through its full range of motion. Ex. Touching your toes or making a split.

Speed The ability to move quickly across the ground or move limbs rapidly to grab or throw. Ex. Running fast to win a race.

Strength A muscle's ability to generate force or resistance against physical objects. Ex. Lifting a heavy weight.
