How YOU can become involved in Junior School Life! Sharing events throughout year: Calendars published at the start of each term, Christmas Play, Open Evenings and Afternoons, Curriculum themed events, Focus groups consultations and parents forums. FOLG events As a Governor As a Parent Volunteer

Parent Volunteers Parent Volunteers Programme – Autumn term meeting including child protection procedures (date to be confirmed) Regular help in classrooms Special Projects – decorating, digging a garden! Trips and visits DBS status – please let us know if you are already cleared at Malvern Way School!

Organisation September 2016 Class structure: 12 classes PPA lessons delivered by Mr Gibson and Mrs Aldridge Four House Groups – Red/ Yellow/ Green/ Blue Assemblies: Headteacher, Themed assemblies, Singing Assembly, Year group and phase sharing assemblies, special visitors and Celebration assembly After school and lunchtime extra curricular clubs

Free School Meals ‘Universal Free School Meal’ not available to KS2 Additional benefits of Pupil Premium budget awarded to school of £1300 per FSM pupil Used for a range of support for children academically and socially

Free School Meals Application Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following: Income Support income-based Jobseekers Allowance income-related Employment and Support Allowance support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190) Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit Universal Credit Apply via: www.gov.uk/apply-free-school-meals

First Day Monday, 5 th September Bring children to the lower school playground by 8.40 am Class teachers will greet children and lead classes to rooms Pick up from lower playground at 3.15pm
