All rights reserved.JDSU CONFIDENTIAL & PROPRIETARY INFORMATION15 Load the Cable Test Schedule onto the Validator  Connect the Validator to a free USB port on your PC  OR remove the CF card from the Validator and insert it into a card reader on your PC  NOTE: Validator must be turned off when card is removed or when USB cable is connected  The CF card will appear as a drive on the PC  Copy the job file to the CF card or simply “save as” and navigate to the CF card to save the file directly to the CF card from Plan-Um

All rights reserved.JDSU CONFIDENTIAL & PROPRIETARY INFORMATION16 Perform Tests  Power on the Validator and Launch Auto Test (use arrow keys to highlight and then press SEL)  Select Job Utilities and then select Open to open the job file  Use the arrow keys to highlight the job file you wish to load and then press the F1 key (Open)  The job file will be loaded and you will be returned to the main screen with Auto Test highlighted  Press SEL  Cable Test Schedule will be highlighted  Press SEL to launch

All rights reserved.JDSU CONFIDENTIAL & PROPRIETARY INFORMATION17 Cable List  The Cable List will be shown  Highlight the cable to be tested using the up and down arrows  Connect the remote to the far end of the cable to be tested  Connect the main unit to the local end of the cable to be tested  Press the Test button

23 © 2008 JDSU. All rights reserved.JDSU CONFIDENTIAL & PROPRIETARY INFORMATION23 Ping  Verifies connectivity to resources on or off the network and the IP addresses.  Validator-NT can simultaneously Ping up to seven different IP addresses and can be run in DHCP or static modes.
