Poverty Reduction and empowerment of the poor and the vulnerable Outreach and Exchange Programs Distressed/ disadvantaged underprivileged communities & victims of calamities, conflicts, wars 22 (No. of Productions) 30 (No. of Shows) 1,138 (No. of Participants/ Performers) 33,965 (No. of beneficiaries) ongoing Highlights for 2016: Kaisa sa Sining - A partnership program between CCP and its key co-operators in the regions: Luzon : Barasoain Kalinangan Foundation Inc. (Bulacan), City of Batangas, St. Louis University (Baguio), Diverse Initiative Bicolano Arts (Naga City), City of Vigan. Visayas : Negros Cultural Foundation (Bacolod), Silliman University (Dumaguete), Central Philippines University (Iloilo), Province of Capiz, Holy Name University (Bohol), City of Calbayog (Samar), Arts Council of Cebu Foundation, Inc. ; Mindanao : MSU Iligan Inst. of Technology, Musikahan sa Tagum Found., ASEACA, City of Koronadal, Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges, GenSan City, and La Salle University, Ozamis City. Ugnayan sa Sining- 2 nd Sing Philippines Youth Choir serenaded commuters on the LRT2 with a special musical flash mob Lakbay Harana- culled from Harana sa Dapit Hapon concert series with productions in 4 local communities in Luzon with artists: soprano Myramae Meneses; tenor Antonio Ferrer; pianist Agot Espino and Kabataang Gitarista. The 1 st outreach performance was held last May at the Shrine of San Antonio de Padua, Pila, Laguna. Poverty Reduction and empowerment of the poor and the vulnerable Outreach and Exchange Programs Distressed/ disadvantaged underprivileged communities & victims of calamities, conflicts, wars 22 (No. Of Productions) 30 (No. of Shows) 1,138 (No. of Participants/ Performers) 33,965 (No. of beneficiaries) ongoing Highlights for 2016: (Continuation) Arts in the Workplace- strength and advocacy campaign for good governance and social transformation- ( Sining sa Tanggapan )- showcased Tanghalang Pilipino’s “Walang Kukurap,” a theatrical production on anti- corruption and was presented at the National Park Development Committee, Philippine Coast Guard and Landbank of the Philippines. Local Tour Grants Program- 2016 grantees include: Community Based Theater Guild (Sorsogon); Teatro Bol-anon (Bohol); Hinugyaw Dance Troupe (Koronadal); Lipa Actors Company (Batangas); Sining Bulakenyo (Bulacan); Sinukwan Kapampangan Performing Arts (Pampanga). Regional Cultural Exchanges & Community Tours- Billed as “Sining ay Buhay, Buhay ay Sining,” the program features the most prominent regional cultural groups with special participation of traditional masters and indigenous children in each site.

Rapid, inclusive & sustained economic growth Training and Education Programs Artistic Programs/ Productions presented and co- presented by CCP Teachers, students, academicians, artists, local communities, LGUs, cultural agencies, Survivors of calamities/ armed conflicts 49 (No. of programs) 64 (No. of shows) 4,237 (No. of participants of workshops/forums) 6,806 (No. of beneficiaries) ongoing Highlights for 2016: Sining sa Eskwela -a week-long arts and culture series training designed for teachers of the Special Program for the Arts (SPA)/MAPEH and Senior HS Arts and Design Track teachers. Program was held in Calbayog City; Silliman University, Dumaguete City; and Los Baños, Laguna. Management Intensives Online -aims to bridge the gap of distance, time and resources, specially in the regions. The first MIO talk was a video conference with Ms. Adrienne Bryant, Managing Director of Dance Heginbotham and Ms. Valerie Oliveiro, Production & Stage Manager from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Management Intensives- Funding Opportunities and international resources- special session and sharing of international funding and grant sourcing with Marisa Benson, Arts consultant from Princeton University, USA. Play Readathon : A marathon readings of plays written by emerging and indigenous women from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao for Women’s Month and World Theater Day organized by the Women Playwright International. Sining Alamin: Arts Appreciation Tour at CCP- DOF employees experienced the various artistic activities of the CCP during their interactive tour as part of CCP’s support to the Professional Development Program of Department off Finance. Forty (40) students graduated the course on “Writing the Feature-Length Screenplay,” “Basic Filmmaking,” and “Film Editing.” Artists & Curators’ Talks- Among the featured artists: Aze Ong, Peter James Fantinalgo (Lawig), Dr. Nicanor Tiongson, Dr. Cecilia Lopez Nava, & Promdi artists Don Flores, Irma Lacorte et.al. Workshops in 2016: CCP National Rondalla with trainors Elaine Espejo Cajucom of the Celso Espejo Rondalla & the UP Rondalla Vocal Production & Interpretation for Live stage performance- for musical theater practitioners facilitated by musical director, coach & educator from New York Carmela Sinco. Guitar Workshop by Kabataang Gitarista- conducted high school students of Integrated Devt School of MSU-IIT. Batang Sining- 5-day workshop for children ages 7-13. CCP Hands-On Choral Workshop- on its 13 th year of training choirs from all over the country spearheaded by the choirmaster of the Phil. Madrigal Singers Mark Anthony Carpio. Fashioning the Terno- Ateneo Art Gallery trained practicing fashion & costume designers in crafting the national dress, facilitated by Gino Gonzales. Just and Lasting Peace and Rule of Law Radio program on anti- corruption Co- Productions and International Exchange Program ASEAN Projects International cultural organizations Artists, students, teachers, local & international cultural agencies, cultural workers, embassies, media 190 (No. of programs) 183 (No. of shows) 2,947 (No. of participants of workshops/forums) 41,798 (No. of beneficiaries) ongoing N o. of projects depends on the no. approved by ASEAN and proposals received from other arts international institutions: DiskArte - a radio-magazine program with arts as it matters to the society w/ 2M listeners nationwide. A follow-up to the award-winning program “Sugpuin ang Korupsiyon”- Jury & People’s Choice Awards (Friedrich Nauman Foundation for Freedom of Germany); CMMA 2006-2008 Hall of Fame Awardee, Golden Dove Award 2005. In partnership with MBC and aired over DZRH. CCP Arts Market -3-day event designed to promote and market ASEAN performing arts content to participating ASEAN and int’l. performing arts markets. MetOpera in HD- CCP partners with Metropolitan Opera of New York to being exemplary production to Filipino audiences through its MetOpera in HD. Featured films and screened at Ayala Greenbelt Cinemas included: Tosca, Iolanta/Bluebeard’s Castle, Carmen, The Merry Widow and Macbeth. Rodolfo Mederos Trio -in commemoration of Argentina’s 200 th anniversary of Declaration of Independence. Dance Motion USA- a component of the US Dept. Of State program produced by BAM (Brookl;yn Academy of Music) that facilitates cultural exchange while showcasing the best in contemporary American dance. Featured group: Dance Heginbotham. Participants: young dance practitioners, students, underserved communities and PWDs. Just and Lasting Peace and Rule of Law Radio program on anti- corruption Co- Productions and International Exchange Program ASEAN Projects International cultural organizations Artists, students, teachers, local & international cultural agencies, cultural workers, embassies, media 190 (No. of programs) 183 (No. of shows) 2,947 (No. of participants of workshops/forums) 41,798 (No. of beneficiaries) ongoing Highlights for 2016 (Con’t.) PPO at Carnegie Hall, New York- a historic concert at the famed Carnegie Hall with internationally-acclaimed Filipino artists pianist Cecile Licad & violinist Diomedes Saraza. The full- house concert aimed to bring pride to the multitudes of Filipinos living in the US. Proceeds went to the housing project of the Phil. Disaster Relief Corporation Inc., for Yolanda victims. In cooperation with the Philippine Airlines, Smart Infinity, Rustans, One Meralco Foundation, First Pacific Company Limited, PLDT Smart Communications, Federaland Inc. and Metrobank Card Corporation. New Black Box Theater - 1 st building to be constructed as part of the CCP Complex MasterPlan with the help of Ignacio Gimenez & Roberto Olanday. The Best of Broadway from Citrus Singers – a top performing US based singing group composed of 40 students.
