1
Welcome everyone. I am the senior pastor of God’s Staff church. Let’s give another round of applause to all the members that have prepared for praise, video, worship, ensemble, a cappella, drama, as well as lights, and sound!
2
They deserve the round of applause. They are all 100% members of our church. They are all amateurs. There are some of them that tried dancing for the very first time in their lives, and as drama as well.
3
If the things we have prepared for was a concert, we should be very sorry because it wouldn’t have been professional. However, our members did not prepare for a concert, but an offering. They all wanted to send an earnest message.
4
Although standing in a stage is very embarrassing and unprofessional, the reason why they have gathered up their courage to stand up in the stage was because of the one and only message.
5
More clearly, we want to share the message that
6
In the bible, Jesus has said this to us: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthews 11:28) Jesus knows that we are people that work hard, and are weary and burdened. Especially the life as an immigrant in a foreign country.
7
Although we thought that if we give up everything and work our hardest, half of our lives would be better, but life is. Although we thought that it would be better when kids grow up!, when kids grow up and marry our bodies are filled with weakness and loneliness.
8
When we thought that we were now able to enjoy life, our bodies are old and we have no money. Depression and dementia finds us. In whatever country or race, this kind of devastating life repeats. Despite time and space, all lives are filled with work and burdens.
9
In the bible, Jesus has said this to us: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthews 11:28) Jesus knows that we are people that work hard, and are weary and burdened. Especially the life as an immigrant in a foreign country.
10
Last year, Korea’s percentage of suicide reached its highest. From the statistics, the percentage for the old has increased. Even though you worked your hardest most of your lives, how can you choose this path to end your life?
11
Aren’t you blaming yourself as an unworthy person when you look at your aged-self? Isn’t it because you are so lonely because not even your children or your neighbour is looking for you? Is this just a story for the adults?
12
Everyone has the desire to be noticed by people. However, the deepest desire people have is the desire to make sure others notice my existence. When one thinks of oneself as an unworthy person, anyone will be in despair.
13
Does the abilities we have and our ages really decide our worthiness as human beings? If a man does not earn a lot of money, does he has to become an useless husband, or an incompetent father?
14
Surprisingly, in secret we do think like that. Therefore to our families, our bosses, and to anyone we try our hardest to be accepted. Because of these overwhelming desires we lose our real selves. This is the painful image of our self- portrait
15
We always live according to the desires of others. We sacrifice our lives for others, and not for myself.
16
This is the core of my message today. One’s value of life does not depend on “how others think of me and accept me”. Our value depends on our one and only God, who is the owner of life.
17
In the bible, there is a saying It means that the life of one person is more valuable than the earth. Life can be created only by God. Even with the technology and the science we have today, we still cannot make the “blood”.
18
In the bible, it says “the blood is the life” God made each and everyone’s life perfectly. There is no life that is a failure. There is no life that is imperfect. There is no life such as “You were born wrong” or “Your life is not valuable” if there is such a life, it is because you have been attacked by the devil who tries to lure you into hell.
19
Satan always tries to make us forget that we are in God. Satan always tries to make us think that the value of our lives depend on what we accomplish and what others think of me.
20
After when the very first two people of world, Adam and Eve sinned, the biggest punishment was the loss of memory of God. We have forgotten about the creator of humans, how precious we are, and the abilities we have as human being.
21
I truly hope and bless everyone to re-find their value and the greatness of themselves today. When you meet Jesus, Holy Spirit comes. The most important role of the Holy Spirit is to help us find our memories about God again. He recovers the heaven’s authority and help us to work through it.
22
Do not be tricked into thinking that humans are mammals of political society. Humans are not mammals. Human beings can be differentiated by any other creature in the world. However, Satan makes us think that we are no different from the other animals. Look at the movies today. They all consider humans as animals. They consider the lives of humans very lightly.
23
They look for money, run after lust, pleasure, authority and power. They make human beings as the ways to achieve these. They make it seem as if money, sex, and power is the only things that make a human’s life valuable.
24
They teach as if having achievements, and acknowledgement from others are the only things that make one’s life valuable. They consider people that does not have any achievements as no different from animals. Therefore people that do not have the capacity to accomplish things are made hopeless. They make these people commit suicide.
25
They make us always in depression. They make us give up our lives. The world makes us focused on our appearance. And they call them our values. Therefore we think that my heart and my value will change when environments change. And therefore we try anything we can to make our appearances successful and we end up making our lives useless.
26
Do not be tricked. It’s never like that. Our value of our lives are not decided by the accomplishment of the world and other individuals. Jesus does not love us because of the wealth we have, or the authority we have, or the looks we have. He loves us because we are his children. We are the children he bought through the pain and the price he paid on the cross.
27
Our true values do not come from the actions, accomplishments, and the acknowledgements we get from others, but from the promise God has given us. Our values are decided from the word of God. Just because we fail or are not acknowledged by others, the value of our lives do not disappear.
28
Sometimes, even our parents or children leave us when we age and fail. However, Jesus promised us that he will never leave us. No matter what kind of situation we are in, unchangingly, he says “All beautiful you are, my darling; there is no flaw in you” (Song of Songs 4:7)
29
I hope everyone can accept Jesus Christ in to their lives through this time. No matter what kind of situations you may be in, Jesus is able to change them. He can change the worries and fear into joy and peace. Faith is mysterious. Something amazing can happen right now. Please repeat after me
30
“I do not know who Jesus is yet, but I want to accept Jesus Christ into my heart. I want to lay all my burdens down before Jesus. I need Jesus right now. If I have any sins I have made until now, Jesus please cleanse all of my sins, and help me to live a new life! Please help me to know Jesus. Please teach me. Jesus name I Pray, Amen
