3. Get the word out about the program. This is where you will pull your 25 submissions for council. > Verity phone & emails on the 25 council submissions. > Drop off to council on 11/17, with each submission having student form & your schools participation form. Winners will be announced through email, on message board and on the website by Christmas break. > Come to pick-up to receive those submission that are not moving on (Date & place TBA) Return submission to students. > Celebrate your winners and participants & volunteers any way you would like. Reflections Gala is January 20th at Minnie Evans for all of the 1-3 place winners chosen at the council level and honorable mention. Breathe & relax Reflections is done. 4. Reflections Training Optional, but a good refresher. Go to www.pta.org/elearning Leadership Enhancement Click on the link, which will take you to: PTA Profile Please provide your email address. If your email already exists in our system, you can proceed with logging in to access your PTA Profile. If your email is not currently in our system you will be prompted To create your PTA Profile. Watch the e-learning video. Viola This saves from having another meeting and you can do it at your leisure.

5. NHC PTSA Reflection Submission Requirements Hello, We are re-vamping the submission guidelines. This is to alleviate any confusion for the judges and a more streamlined way for the judges to view hundreds of submissions. Please also keep in mind NC PTA Requirment, they can be found as an attachment with this email. Dance Choreography, Film Production & Music Composition All submission need to be placed on a flash drive, we can not accept DVDS. Many DVDS last year had to be converted to use on our judges computers. Please place the Flash Drive and Student Entry form in either a manila envelope or regular envelope. Label the outside of the envelope or folder Category Division Students Name Literature Please place Writing & Student Entry Form in Manila Envelope or folder. Label the outside of the envelope or folder Category Division Students Name PHOTOGRAPHY & Visual Art Please place the student entry form & Photography in a manila envelope or regular envelope. Label the outside of the envelope or folder Category Division Students Name OR in a clear protective sleeve and no additional labeling is needed. 3-D Visual Art Please ONLY SUBMIT 3 photos ( Computer printed phots do not read well, True Photo prints are best), student entry form(please make sure the measurements are noted on the student entry form). We will not be taking the physical 3-D artwork. We ask that the school PTA hold the 3-d art until the winners are announced. 6. Special artists are a separate category, to encourage more participation.. As of now we have a cap of from each school but if you receive more and would like to submit them, please contact me. Special artists do not take from your 25 entries, special artist submissions are separate from your 25 submissions, meaning for example. 8 from dance 2 from lit 5 from music 5 from film 5 from V.A Total 25 Special artists submissions 3 from dance 7 from film Total 10 Total from school 35

7. Promoting Reflections Feel free to use any of the below ideas to help promote Reflections, feel free to add any suggestions or ideas that you may have. Some ideas that were presented where to -Announce it at your first meeting. -Update your social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and etc... -Update your website. -Add it to your newsletter. -Add posters around schools. -Send home with you start of school parent forms. -Alert now phone calls. -Make your own poster with the theme on it. If you like to paint or draw, write short stories or poems, film your own movies, take photographs, compose music, or choreograph your own dances, then we have an awesome opportunity for you to showcase your talents through the National PTA Reflections Program… What’s Your Story? 6 different categories to choose from and all of the information you need to participates available here online. Entries must be the original work of an individual student and completed without the influence or help of another person. Students may submit as many entries as they like in one or more categories. How to participate in Reflections: 1. THIN K about ways that you can express your ideas about the theme through the following categories: Visual Arts, Literature, Film, Music, Dance or Photography. 2. READ all of the rules set forth for your category before creating your project. 3. DO YOUR PROJECT. You can complete it in a few hours or work on it off & on over the next couple of weeks. 4.
