Behavior Plan: Communication in Planners Team Plan/Used Daily If a student is not behaving properly in class or is not prepared, that student will receive an x in planner with note. Students are given a warning prior to receiving an x. The consequence for an x in the planner is a loss of one recess. If the behavior is extreme, teacher may give a different consequence. Students can earn a reward at the end of each grading period for good behavior/homework completion. Cyclone Cash

H.I.P. Slips Homework Improvement Program If a child misses a homework assignment, they get a HIP slip. The student must have a parent sign the slip and turn it in the following school day along with the completed assignment. The student will miss recess that day each time he/she gets a HIP slip. If not returned the next day, the child will receive a second slip and will miss recess again. This a team program. Students can earn a reward at the end of each grading period for good behavior/homework completion.

A spelling test will be given 4 times this year. Homework: will count for 50 points each grading period. Projects: will be assigned throughout the year relating to both reading and language arts. The type of project and point value will vary. Projects are designed to enhance student learning, engage students in the creative process, foster time management skills, and add rigor to the classroom. Rubrics are normally provided for projects. Grades will also come from the work students do in class (Close Reader, Performance Assessment Book, etc.)

Make-up work When a student is absent/misses a portion of class, it is his/her responsibility to complete the missed work as soon as possible. It is the student’s job to see me for clarification of missed assignments and/or tests. Students have the number of days absent to make-up assignments.
