2 Congratulations! You are a Book Trust Teacher. This means that each of your students will have the opportunity to fall in love with reading by ordering $7 worth of books that they are excited to read - every month of the school year (Sept- May)! This webinar will go over everything you need to know for using the program.

40 How to Order with Scholastic  Step 1: Teachers must create a Scholastic account  Go to http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/ to create an accounthttp://www.scholastic.com/teachers/  If you already have a Scholastic account, login to update or confirm your student roster number as well as the grade you will be teaching this school year

41 Teacher Pre-Survey  Step 2: Teachers take the pre-survey  You will receive an email with a link to take the pre-survey from support@booktrust.org support@booktrust.org  The survey will take approximately 20 minutes

42 Customer Number Step 1  Step 3: Teachers provide Book Trust with their customer number on the pre-survey  Customer numbers are used to download and pay Student Flyer Orders  If you’re having trouble locating your customer number, watch video on the following page

44 Place your order Step 1  Step 4: After completion of the pre-survey, Book Trust will confirm your customer number  Teachers will receive confirmation via email that they are ready to place their first order  Confirmation should arrive within 2 business days of completing the pre-survey

45 Order Frequency Step 1  Be sure to order only 1 time per month  Book Trust will not reimburse teacher accounts for late or early orders  For example, teachers may not place December orders in November

46 Order Deadline Step 1  Order by the 15 th of each month!  Any order placed after 10 pm CT the last day of the month will count as the next months’ order  This means students lose out on one month’s books

50  Step 5: Spend $7 per student per month  Encourage students to spend the full $7 each month!  If students order $4, Book Trust will pay $4 for that student  If a student orders $9, Book Trust will pay $7 for that student and the teacher must collect and send in the additional $2 to Scholastic  Book Trust recommends teachers send in the additional cash monthly, rather than waiting and paying at the end of the year Ordering with Scholastic cont.

51  Step 6: Choose the “checks” payment method  Scholastic does not require payment upon checkout for teachers who choose the “checks” option  Book Trust Teachers will choose the “checks” payment method.  Book Trust, using your Customer Number, will apply the payment to your account. 53  Step 7: Await email confirmation from Scholastic  After successfully submitting an order, teachers will receive email confirmation from Scholastic  If you did not receive email confirmation, you may not have fully placed your order. Login to Scholastic to see if the order is still in your cart Order Confirmation

55 Repayment Policy  Book Trust pays orders the 15 th of the following month  Ex: September orders will be paid by October 15  You may receive a statement from Scholastic  Check your account the 15 th of the following month to figure out your balance

59 Scholastic Teacher Incentives  Order $50 in books by September 30 and receive a class set of book coupons, classroom poster, and stickers  Order $125 or more by September 30 and ALSO get a free 10-book pack – based on the grade indicated you teach

62 Next Steps  Create a Scholastic account or confirm your Scholastic account details  Take the pre-survey, which you will receive via email once your Book Trust Manager completes their teacher roster  Receive confirmation that you are ready to place your first order  Pass out Scholastic flyers to students and help them choose books  Order between September 1-September 30!

63 Next Steps for Student Surveys  Only for:  All Nebraska and Iowa Schools: Omaha Public Schools, Council Bluffs Public Schools, Bellevue Public Schools, Milliard School District, Ralston School District, Westside Community Schools  Oakland Unified School District, CA  Fort Worth Independent School District, TX  School District of Philadelphia, PA  Alamosa School District, CO  Baker School District, OR  Have your 2 nd and 3 rd grade students complete the student survey by September 10 th  Teachers will not be able to place their September order until their student surveys are complete
