Office of International Medicine Programs (IMP) IMP was created in 1994 in response to an increasing international demand for American medical education and healthcare management, technology, and the latest in medical techniques and procedures.

IMP Goal: To further the mission of GWUMC by contributing to the advancement of education, training, and research through innovation and exchange of information in medicine, health sciences and public health and health services with colleagues around the world

IMP Background More than 15 years of international experience 66 active partnerships and affiliations in 45 countries Trained over 2000 international physicians, scholars, visiting professors, fellows, residents, students, and healthcare professionals Arabic speaking staff

International MD Program Minimum Requirement: 1.Applicants must not be US citizens, Canadian citizens, or Permanent resident visa holders 2.Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in a U.S. or Canadian college or university 3. Done AMCAT with scores above 20 4. Five annual available positions

International Residency Programs ECFMG certification Competitive USMLE Scores Good academic record Preferred US clinical experiences / research

International Fellowship Programs Available for: U.S. Board holders ECFMG certified

International Continuing Medical Education Latest in healthcare procedures GW faculty expertise Developed according to specific needs /audience of the host institution Done either at host site or via videoconference

International Faculty/Staff Exchange GW faculty site visits Consultations Workshops Hosting international healthcare professionals for specific training at GW, Ex. Minimally invasive techniques, robotic surgeries, etc.
