2. WHO VERONICA CRUZ SANCHEZ IS: Veronica is the founder of organization that helps woman who have experience violence because of their sex in Guanajuato. She is a huge motivator and has helped hundreds of women's.

3. WHAT INSPIRED VERONICA TO MAKE A CHANGE IN GUANAJUATO? She was inspired to make a change because when she was in middle school every day after school she went and knocked on every house to teach women how to read and write. She went to women’s houses and she got to hear horrible stories about the violence they suffered.

4. HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATED SHE PROTECTS: She helped enforce the following human rights in Guanajuato… #7. We’re all equal before the law. #2. Don’t discriminate. #1.We are all born free and equal.

5. WHAT HAS SHE DONE She founded Las Libres in 2000 It was founded with the goal of sexual rights and making abortion legal in the state of Guanajuato. EXTRA: Abortion is only legal in Guanajuato incase of rape. Las Libres receives any women who has experience violence because of their sex.

6. LAS LIBRES They focus on helping women, supporting them, giving them anything they need and accompanying them through their problem. Las Libres doesn’t leave any case unresolved they fix any women that comes up to them with problems.

7. ACOMPLISHMENTS Freeing the Six Women from Jail Six women have been sentenced to 25 or 30 years in jail for abortion. Veronica dedicated her time to free those poor women and not only did she free them she made abortion legal in Guanajuato. Founding Las Liebres Las Liebres helps women with problems they have experience because of discrimination and violence. Human Rights Watch she won the Human Rights Watch in 2006 it caused her great happiness to know that her hard work had been recognized.

8. What has she learned from herself? HER OWN LESSONS She has learned from the strength they have. She has learned a new style of life. Veronica has learned from the women she woks with… She had learned to be a better person Veronica learned that no matter what decision the women she is working with takes she has learned to understand them, listen to them, respect them and not to judge them.

9. WHAT I LEARNED FROM HER I know that everyone would remember her for that because those are her greatest achievements and she made a big difference in Guanajuato and Mexico. What everyone would remember of her would be that she helped women around Guanajuato to become independent and to fight for their rights. She will also be remembered for freeing the six women arrested for abortion. Lastly she will be remembered for making abortion legal in case of rape in the state of Guanajuato.
