3 What is a living thing? A living thing can move. A living thing can grow. A living thing can change. A living thing can make more of its own kind (reproduce). A living thing has needs: air, water, food, and shelter. People, animals, and plants are living things.

4 What types of living things resemble their parents at birth? Living things that resemble their parents at birth… 1) Babies look like people. 2) Kittens look like cats. 3) Puppies look like dogs.

5 What types of living things do not resemble their parents at birth? Living things that do not resemble their parents at birth… 1) Baby jellyfish do not look like adult jellyfish. 2) Caterpillars do not look like butterflies. 3) Tadpoles do not look like frogs.
