CURRENT EVENT: SUDAN Objective: 1. Identify key dates in Sudanese history related to the conflict in Darfur and the current conflict in South Sudan. 2. Identify the three (3) main causes of conflict in Sudan. 3. Think about what you would do if you were a leader in Sudan to find a solution to the conflict.

Where is Sudan? With your group, locate Sudan using your Africa map or textbook (p. 404). On your sheet, describe its relative location. 3 minutes Sudan overview Sudan overview As you watch, write down three important details you learn.

Sudan is located south of Egypt, west of Ethiopia, north of Uganda and Zaire, and east of Chad. It also borders the Red Sea on the north eastern side of the country.
