2 The Problem – Decade of Declining Membership

3 The Causes? Macro – general decline in dues paying membership organizations – Generational? – Economics? – Other? Micro – what we’re we doing/not doing at Club level? – Lots of events/activities – But no consistent plan, focus, or activity in recruiting/retaining members – Plus fiscal year confusion

4 Does Membership Matter? Certainly – Dues to sustain events – Funds for scholarships – More members = greater attendance – More members = greater impact

5 So What Did We Do? Made Membership Job One Grew Board From 12 To 18 Members Board’s #1 Responsibility This Year – Membership Mined The Data Tasked Every Board Member With Chasing 25-50 Board President Chasing Every Non-Member Board President Pushing Board Regularly Affinity Committees Helping (Lawyers)

6 Results After 5 Months Start of Year: – 288 Paid Members – 9 Free Members – 297 Total Members Today – 415 Paid Members – 51 Free Members – 466 Total Members 57% Growth In Membership So Far

8 We’re Not Done Yet Now Introducing Rolling Memberships Will Allow Us To Chase December Year-End Going To Then Focus On Students Making All Events Discounted For Members Will Continue Data-Mining & Board Assigned Recruitment President-Elect Fully Engaged To Continue & Institutionalize Membership as Job One Will Grow Board Further To Enhance Network & Recruitment
