2 Kobo is based on Open Data Kit (ODK), which is a series of "open source" tools that help organizations create, implement and manage data collection solutions on mobile devices (Android) in access constrained settings and submit these data to an online server. The collection is possible without an Internet or mobile connection. Allows to set up questionnaires which will be used to create a database. It is possible to have an item on geolocation, which will use the data in a GIS; but this is not mandatory. What is Kobo tool?

8 Other tools for mobile collection Magpi is an easy-to-use mobile data collection application that works on different mobile devices with comprehensive features, to be used by organizations with limited IT and financial resources.  Used in several countries like Mali and Cameroon in 2015 NOMAD: HumanitariaN Operations Mobile Acquisition of Data http://humanitarian-nomad.org/ http://humanitarian-nomad.org/ Online Selection Assistant to connect organization or project with one of 24 mobile data collection solutions. NOMAD also includes a secondment service comprised of experienced field personnel who are ready to deploy to train your organization how to use mobile data collection technology or to support in the collection of such data.

9 Conclusion / recommendations Several tools for mobile data collection Importance of analysis and representation = GIS / mapping Combination of tools according to context and skills Update data when possible Work with other sectors
