3  George Washington Carver was an important teacher and inventor.  He persuaded farmers to grow peanuts and sweet potatoes.  George Washington Carver discovered many ways to use peanuts.

4  Share with your partner one way he discovered peanuts could be used.  SYS like this: “Peanuts can be used to make _______________.”

5  Today we are going to learn more about peanuts in an article from a Ranger Rick magazine.  Look at pages 136 and 137 in your book.

7  Definition - You make a drink yourself by pouring hot water into it or over it.  Examples: coffee, tea  What would you need to brew a pot of coffee? › To brew a pot of coffee, you would need _______ and ___________. › See if you can name more than one item.
