The word comes from the Zulu and Xhosa languages.Ubuntu (pronounced "oo-BOON-too") is a traditional South African concept. "the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity" As a platform based on Linux, the Ubuntu operating system brings the spirit of ubuntu to the software world.

3. Before we START, Just Imagine this kind of FREEDOM... The freedom to run the program anywhere, for any purpose. The freedom to study how the program works, and adapt it to your needs. The freedom to redistribute copies so you can help your neighbor. The freedom to improve the program, and release your improvements to the public, so that the whole community benefits. System requirements are less compared to other OS like Windows,requires just 4GB of space,and 256 MB of RAM is more than enough,providing better features. Supports more than 50 languages.

If you don't have the program you want, you could easily download it by issuing one command (sudo apt-get install program-name). 20. Design Improve the Look and Feel of Ubuntu. You can design the Graphics or Themes or Background of the next release. With technical know-how available on the net,start fiddling around with Desktop environments like GNOME and KDE and put your creativity to best use.
