This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved— and that by God. 29 For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him, 30 since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.

How many brothers and sisters did Jesus have?

53 When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there. 54 Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?”

they asked. 55 “Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? 56 Aren’t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?”

3 Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people.

Jude differentiates and distinguishes his love for his blood relative and his commitment to his God who he serves and worships.

Do I worship something or allow someone else to be my God in lieu of God himself? Do I clearly differentiate and distinguish between people who I love in the flesh and who I worship as my God?

Jesus gives us courage……Follow Him!

Here’s the thing with gifts from God……we don’t get to choose them.

Nearly every man and woman throughout scripture suffered in some way, so why should it be any different for us?

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, [a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.a
