9. Ethnocentric Stages Denial: People of other cultures, insofar as they’re noticed at all, seem less human. Defense: Aware of other cultures around them, but with a relatively incomplete understanding and probably fairly strong negative feelings or stereotypes about some of them. Minimization: People from other cultures are pretty much like me, under the surface.

Able to “take the perspective” of another culture to understand or evaluate situations. Integration.
