MUCH ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT According to the U.S. Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs, since the Global War on Terror began in late 2001 through December 31, 2014, there were 6,852 American military casualties. Multiple estimates reflect that $6 Trillion was spent by the U.S. Government to support the Global War on Terror during that same time period. According to the U.S. Department of Labor and the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were 12,503 work–related fatalities on U.S. construction jobsites during that same time period. During this same time period, multiple studies estimate approximately $3.5 Trillion has been spent by U.S. employers on direct Workers Compensation Loss Costs.
