What do you think the word alliance means? A)Alliance means two or more countries who sign an agreement. This agreement is always over which side a country should fight on during a war. Copy definitions: Alliance: An agreement or partnership between countries e.g. to help to defend each others land. This agreement can be over anything they decide- for example an agreement over trade. However often the agreements particularly in the years before the First World War were about protection. This means that were a war to break out, countries had agreed to protect each other. Treaty: Written agreement between nations.
