Did God cause the Muslim attack on 9/11/ 2001 ? How do we know ?
15
This is God’s world. Colossians 1: 16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things have been created through Him and for Him.
16
Psalms 24: 1 The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains, The world, and those who dwell in it. Psalms 50: 12 If I were hungry I would not tell you, For the world is Mine, and all it contains.
17
God actively rules His world. Psalms 103: 19 The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, And His sovereignty rules over all.
18
Isaiah 46: 10 - 11 Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’; 11 Calling a bird of prey from the east, The man of My purpose from a far country. Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass. I have planned it, surely I will do it.
19
Colossians 1: 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. Romans 13: 1 Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.
20
God determines which government will rule. Daniel 2: 21 It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding.
22
God sends only all things good. James 1: 16-17 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.
23
God limits Satan’s evil. Job 1: 12 – Then the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power, only do not put forth your hand on him.” So Satan departed … Job 2: 6 – So the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your power, only spare his life.”
24
Genesis 50: 20 – As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive. Rom. 8: 28 – And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. James 1: 2-3 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
26
The Genesis flood was a judgment in time. Genesis 6: 5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
27
The destruction of Sodom was a judgment that occurred in time. Genesis 19: 24 Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven, 25 and He overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.
28
God used nations, even evil nations, to bring judgment on other nations.
29
Genesis 15: 13-16 God said to Abram, "Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, where they will be enslaved and oppressed four hundred years. 14 "But I will also judge the nation whom they will serve, and afterward they will come out with many possessions. … 16 "Then in the fourth generation they will return here, for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet complete."
30
Exodos 23: 23 For My angel will go before you and bring you in to the land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will completely destroy them.
31
Our founding fathers understood that God would judge nations. “It was said, that it ought to be considered, that national crimes can only be, and frequently are, punished in this world by national punishment.” - Luther Martin “Nations cannot be judged in the next world so God judges them in this.” - James Madison
33
We have seen that God judges. How do we know God judges ? Does God still judge today ? How do we know it is judgment ?
35
Christians live by faith in God. Romans 8: 28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. * Not that all things are good …
36
How should Christians respond ? Hebrews 10: 32-36 But remember the former days, when, after being enlightened, you endured a great conflict of sufferings, 33 partly by being made a public spectacle through reproaches and tribulations, and partly by becoming sharers with those who were so treated. 34 For you showed sympathy to the prisoners and continued …

How should Christians respond ? Hebrews 10: 32-36 … continuation accepted joyfully the seizure of your property, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and a lasting one. 35 Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.
38
I Peter 3: 14-15 But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not fear their intimidation, and do not be troubled 15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;
39
Acts 4: 19-20 But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge; 20 for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.
40
John 18: 36 Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm. ( Remember : Luke 22: 50-51 … Peter cut off ear, Jesus healed )
