B ACTERIAL MENINGITIS I MMUNIZATION 22 If you are under the age of 22 you need to comply with the Bacterial Meningitis Immunization Requirement uh.edu/immunization The vaccination must have been administered within the last five years and at least 10 days before the start of the semester Summer 2016 : Before May 27, 2016 Fall 2016 : Before August 12, 2016 The UH Health Center offers the bacterial meningitis vaccine for $143 to admitted students, It may be cost less to get the immunization in your country

R EGISTER F OR YOUR N EW S TUDENT C ONFERENCE Visit uh.edu/orientation or email orientation@uh.edu for additional information There are two types of New Student Conferences: New Student Orientation (NSO) is a mandatory, two-day, overnight program for all new freshmen students. Advising and Registration for Transfers (ART) is a mandatory, one- day conference for all transfer students. Sign up today! Residing in the United States If you are currently residing in the United States, you can select any of the available New Student Conference dates that will be listed in your myUH self- service account. Residing Outside of the United States If you are currently residing outside of the United States and will be entering the USA for the first time, we encourage you to attend the Aug. 15 conference. If you are on or will be on an F-1 visa, this will ensure that you are fulfilling the entry requirements listed on your I-20. I NTERNATIONAL S TUDENT O RIENTATION 2 Day International Student Orientation All incoming international students are required to attend the International Student Orientation. The International Student Orientation covers content including restrictions and benefits of international students’ non-immigrant statuses, the American academic system and student services offered at the University of Houston. I MPORTANT ATTEND YOUR SCHEDULED NEW STUDENT CONFERENCE (NSO/ART) The conference is mandatory for all incoming undergraduate students. If a student fails to register for or attend the conference, he or she will not be allowed to enroll. ATTEND INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CHECK-IN The International Check-In is mandatory for all incoming international students. Failure to check in with ISSS in a timely manner may adversely affect a student’s enrollment and authorization to remain in the U.S. ATTEND INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION The International Student Orientation is mandatory for all incoming international students.
