SYMPHONY 3.5.1 SP1 UPGRADE COMPLETED July 11 & Required Symphony Workflows Client Update Over Weeks Following A few specific advantages to the new Symphony 3.5.1.1 version include the following: Inventory Item Wizard no longer incorrectly updates the Last Activity Date of an item Signature pads now support additional languages, including Spanish and Polish, based on the patron’s set language preference WorkFlows client runs on an updated Java JRE, improving security and reliability of the application WorkFlows toolbars have additional font and icon sizing settings for better visibility

On July 22, SWAN hosted our first annual user event, the Summer SWANstravaganza, at Moraine Valley Community College. 197 attendees 17 sessions were led by library community members 5 vendors showcased their services Download presentations https://support.swanlibraries.net/documentation/swanstravaganza 76 respondents completed our nine-questions survey, revealing the following feedback: The quality of the event’s speakers was rated 3.72 out of 5 stars The quality of the venue was rated 4.64 out of 5 stars The quality of the food was rated 3.93 out of 5 stars The overall satisfaction of the event was 3.86 out of 5 stars Respondents rated 4.07 out of 5 stars on average that they would attend this event again in the future 1 ST ANNUAL SWAN USER EVENT

BLUECLOUD COMMERCE & EMV READERS “ProPay is committed to delivering the ability for our merchants to process EMV chip and signature transactions in 2016. We are currently in the process of upgrading our systems to be able to communicate with EMV chip and signature “We anticipate announcing our chosen desktop EMV chip and signature hardware solution late in 2016 with target delivery in the first half of 2017.”

SIRSIDYNIX STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM SirsiDynix Strategic Partner Program (SPP) is customer participation in new feature discussions, user centered design and product direction Customers get involved in providing feedback on features earlier in development cycle while there is still time to incorporate feedback into product SPP ‘initiatives’ can be tied to specific product releases or can focus on a general topic Initiatives are focused on key features of an upcoming release Invites customers to participate and provide valuable feedback Volunteer customers are included in initiative activities SWAN libraries can participate! More information on SPPs will be shared in upcoming SWAN E-News
