Learning FUNDAMENTALS! Musically and Visually GROWING our identity!

The Braswell Band will perform a production that is familiar musically while we draw the community into the NEW WORLD we are creating at BHS. Music – “New World Symphony” by Antonin Dvorak and “Endeavour” by Carol Chambers Visual – Red, Black, White, Grey color palette with abstract props to “stage” us on the field! Music Design – Carol Chambers, Colton Hines, Chris Lennox Visual Design – Kevin Nix, Meagan Ginger

October 8 th – Little Elm Marching Festival – Little Elm HS October 22 nd – UIL Region 2 Marching Contest– Northwest ISD October 24 th – “Sounds of the Stadium” – Collins Stadium, Denton November 5 th – USBands Remo Finale – Midlothian …not to mention football games, parades, pep rallies, and more!!!!

Beginning of August Camp March “Box A” while playing “Descending Remington” Learn during August Camp…older kids can help facilitate practices… Ranked Contest Show (Varsity) “Under Study” (Junior Varsity) Everyone performs at ALL football games in the Spirit Show! Everyone goes to all events!!! Everyone is involved in both productions on some level!! Creating the best fit for each student’s abilities…

Summer Dates June Camp – June 6 th thru 8 th - 8:00AM to 4:00PM Drum Major Camp – June 19 th thru 23 rd Guard Camp – July 11 th -14 th – Noon to 5:00PM Percussion Camp – July 18th thru 21st – 9:00AM to 6:00PM Winds Rehearsal – July 18th and July 25th – 6:00 to 8:00PM Leadership Camp – July 25th thru 27th – 8:00AM to 3:00PM

August Band Camp August 1 st – August 18 th Navo MS /Paloma Creek Elementary/ Braswell Be ready to be flexible on locations Be ready to MOVE IN Learn Shows / Drill Team Sequence / Perform! Time Intensive – Learn as much as possible! Check Schedule (online / handout if you’d like) Review Supplies (see earlier slides)

Please consider the transition time before and after rehearsal…for example: Rehearsal is 7:30-10:30AM Plan on arriving at 7:15 and leaving around 10:45 We rehearse “whistle to whistle” Try to have everyone gone 30 minutes after!

“Normal” School Year Weekly Schedule School dismissed at 4:20PM (tutorials, snack, and change clothes) Monday – 5:00-8:00PM Tuesday – 5:00-7:30PM Thursday - 5:00-7:30PM Friday – 7:15-8:15AM / Football Games Saturday – Performances Will be different on Thursday night games!
