2 Summary Public Health Goals Report Required Every 3 Years Reports on Water Quality Pertaining to: – State Public Health Goals – Federal Maximum Contaminant Goals

3 Background Public Health Goals are non-enforceable goals established by Cal-EPA’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment Compares actual water quality to State Public Health Goals Discusses what actions are taken to reduce water constituents to below Public Health Goals

4 Report Findings Water Constituents that Exceeded a Public Health Goal or Maximum Contaminant Level Goal – Coliform Bacteria – Nickel – Radionuclides – Arsenic – Disinfection By-Products

5 Recommendations Our drinking water meets all State and US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) drinking water standards set to protect public health Health protection benefits of treatment to Public Health Goals or below is not clear and may not be quantifiable No further action is proposed at this time

6 Public Outreach Report is to be adopted by Council at this public Report is posted in: – City Clerk’s Office – Libraries – City Website (stocktongov.com)

7 Recommendation Adopt a Resolution Approving the Public Health Goals 2007 Report for the City of Stockton’s Water Utility
