1. The Archaic Period

2. I am Arcman, from the Archaic Period. Welcome to my tribe. My people lived from 8000 B.C. to 1000 A.D., following the Paleo Period, and preceding the Woodland Period.

3. We traveled in small groups, or clans, which are a group of people with the same family origin.

4. My people began hunting deer, bear, turkey, rabbit, and game birds because large game animals from the Paleo Period began to become extinct.

5. We also hunted fish and gathered nuts, seeds, fruits, and roots.

6. We created spear points, invented choppers, drills, and chipping tools made from deer antlers.

7. We also created a grooved axe. Here are some pictures.

8. In the late Archaic period, we settled near rivers or other natural resources.

9. Like other periods, we invented cooking technology like pottery and soapstone bowls.

10. My tribe was magnificent, and they're legacy will continue on for all to learn about.
