With the imposition of Essential National Industries Decree on essential service sectors by the Government weakened trade unions to exercise freely and bargain collectively. Violation of fundamental workers and trade union rights by imposing inconsistent laws. Intervention of ILO-Committee of Experts and repealing the draconian laws and adherence to ILO ratified Conventions.

Labour law review Review all Decrees to ensure compliance will ILO Core Conventions. Revisit Committee of Experts reports to ensure amendments to ERP2007. Amend ERP to include all recent ILO Conventions ratified by Government. Others Disputes and Outcomes-timeframe and backlogs Weak Enforcement Commitment by Government to comply

33 Conventions Fundamental Conventions: 8 of 8 Governance Conventions (Priority): 4 of 4 Technical Conventions: 21 of 177 Out of 33 Conventions ratified by Fiji, of which 33 are in force, 5 Conventions have been denounced; none have been ratified in the past 12 months.

FTUC on behalf all trade unions pursued the ILO compliant under Article 26 of ILO Constitution. March 2015-FTUC,Governemnt and Employers reached MoA Government amended laws unilaterally. November 2015-ILO sent Tripartite Mission to examine why there was no Joint Implementation Report. Formulation of ERP Amendment Act 2015/2016 in line with C87 and C98. Withdrawal of complaint by FTUC to avert Commission of Inquiry.
