As A Volunteer: Sign in as a visitor AND SIGN OUT WHEN YOU LEAVE This is New!! Wear a Visitor’s badge End your day no later than 2:50 and please sign out Know where to find instructions and materials Get training on copier, laminator, etc. TODAY – Immediately following this training Next Tuesday, September 6 th at 1:30 Always remain positive! Become familiar with safety procedures Practice Confidentiality

Paws For Pride Character Awards!!! Each month we will celebrate a new character trait. Toward the end of the month one student from each class will be chosen as the student that has been the best role model when it comes to that character trait. On that day, we hope that every student and adult comes to Bush wearing that color to celebrate the fact that at Bush we are Growing Great Minds while Growing Great Character!!

GROWING GREAT MINDS AT BUSH!! When working with students, remind them that their brains are growing when they are doing something that is tough for them!! Remind students that mistake are proof that they are trying and that their brains are growing even when they make mistakes!!

Any whole class snacks must meet the Smart Snacks Guidelines NO Homemade Snacks Smart Snack lists and calculator can be found from the Child Nutrition link on our Bush Homepage. No carbonated beverages at any time Unwrapped items served to class – server must wear gloves. SMART SNACK GUIDELINES

SAFETY Procedures Emergency Drills: Fire Weather/Shelter Lock Down Evacuation Please Exit the Building or go to a safe location IMMEDIATELY Become familiar with what to do or where to exit the building During a Lockdown Drill, go to the nearest classroom and follow the teacher’s directives exactly. Safety First!

Safety Procedures Continued When volunteering and you want to check out your own children: When you sign out of your volunteer time at the front office, you may ask the front office staff to call your child down to the front office to be signed out. HOWEVER, PLEASE REMEMBER THAT EACH MOMENT OF THE DAY IS USED AS INSTRUCTIONAL TIME. PLEASE TRY NOT TO MAKE A HABIT OUT OF MAKING YOUR CHILD MISS OUT ON ANY OF THAT IMPORTANT TIME! No Exceptions: Students cannot be released to you directly from their classrooms. For the safety of your children, PLEASE no children in the Copy Room!!

Guidelines for Classrooms, Halls, and other Painted Areas of the School We are now NOT ALLOWED to use: Staples Scotch tape 3M hooks Masking tape Velcro Contact Paper ON walls, windows, and door and window frames… We may use MAVALUS tape or sticky tack!!

Guidelines for Classrooms, Halls and other Painted Areas of the School In the hallways : Due to fire code, we have to limit what is displayed on the bare hallway walls. Whether it is for a teacher or PTO event, please consult Mrs. Mills, Mrs. Dupre, or Mrs. Strecker for permission prior to hanging anything. Hallways and classrooms must maintain an 80% paper free environment to maintain the fire resistant integrity of the area.
