Tajikistan: Clay green house Principle: Clay wall that stores the heat over the day and releases it during night. Heat retention through clay/ solar energy using for heating. Cost of one: 17KUS$ (10K loan and 7K contribution from farmer) Cost recovery: one year (2 seasons January- May 2011 and December 2011-March 2012 - 9 months) Tonnage collected: 7000kg tomatoes January - May 2011 Green solution for competitiveness Whole sale price 9TJS per kg: Imported (UZB) 12-13TJS per kg Greenhouse price 5-6TJS per kg Greenhouse production cost ~1.33TJS kg Aid-for-Trade project supported, but privately replicated
