2 Purpose The purpose of this lesson is to identify roles and responsibilities of cadets in a mentor/mentee association.

3 1. Identify the roles and responsibilities in a mentoring relationship. 2. Identify tools for successful mentoring. 3. Develop a Lesson Plan. 4. Identify required topics for Leadership Training.

8 If Marines are expected to lead, and Marines are expected to follow, they must be provided with the education and training to win on the battlefield and in the barracks.

9  There are no set rules for a mentoring relationship, but general guidelines still apply.  The most important thing to remember is that mentoring is a specialized association formed to enhance a cadet’s educational and personal worth to him/herself and to the Corps.

12  In order to understand how to plan training for your team, it is best placed in the context of creating an actual lesson plan.  The ability to lead is not inherently bred into your character; it is a skill you develop with experience.  There are some topics directly related to leadership training goals that are required by regulations.
