What is Aerospace Engineering Aerospace engineering deals with designing and building machines that fly. –a–aeronautical engineering is within the Earth’s atmosphere –a–astronautical engineering is outside the Earth’s atmosphere Aerospace engineering requires in-depth skills and understanding in physics, mathematics, aerodynamics and materials science.

Project Updates State technical review process took over 1-year to complete January 5, Newington BOE received notification from the State Department of Construction Services that the JWMS PCB Abatement/STEM Academy Renovation Projects can go out to bid. Town Council took formal action to start the bidding process and move the projects forward. Projects are now approximately two months behind the original construction schedule.

Project Updates Project Timeline, based on a January 13 th start, requires 31 weeks until the planned opening date of the Academy on August 24. Bidding phase – 6 weeks Contract Award/Mobilization/HAZMAT Notification – 4 weeks Abatement – 8 weeks Exterior Reconstruction – 6 Weeks Interior Build Out – 6 Weeks Move In and Readiness for the Opening of School – 1 Week Total Time to Complete Projects – 31 weeks Target date for construction completion – August 17, 2015 This assumes that the construction schedule can be maintained and no further delays would be incurred.

Staffing 1.0 FTE Science Certified in 7-12 Physics or General Science 1.0 FTE Math Certified in 7-12 Mathematics Hire 7-12 science teacher by March 15 to work collaboratively with Program Leader to design the curriculum.
