Laboratory Safety 2 Research Safety Oversight Structure Research Safety Oversight Committee (RSOC) Oversees research safety programs, facilitating the development of a strong safety culture and establishing policies and guidelines Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) Reviews and approves research-related use of biohazardous materials Campus-wide Chemical Safety Committee (CCSC) Reviews policies and procedures about use of potentially hazardous chemicals or materials Radiation Safety Committee (RSC) Evaluates all use of radioactive materials and radiation- producing equipment Laser Safety Subcommittee (LSS) Oversees USC policies and guidelines related to the use of lasers
