3 –When an Asset has more than x hours of downtime in a month, Create a Work Order to assess the pump. WO is created with the ASSESS Pump Job Plan Applied –When the number of Corrective and Emergency Work Orders on an Asset exceeds x in a certain time period, generate a Work Order or Incident to investigate –When Un-Availability (actual uptime vs. planned/required uptime) exceeds x%, kick off a workflow process that may ultimately result in a corrective Work Order Escalation (and Workflow) Callable Actions that automate the creation of Work Orders (and Incidents/Problems) when Escalation Point Conditions are satisfied.

6 Query Based (Ad Hoc Reporting) Select Fields from Multiple Tables Specify Sorting and Grouping Save, Schedule, Email Without the need for Report Development Programming Skills Database Knowledge Resources to Create, Maintain Report Design Files Creates Powerful Reports On the Fly

7 Details Query Based Reporting (Ad Hoc) enables business users to create their own unique reports without the need of database querying or report development technical skills. Enabling this functionality frees up multiple Development Resources from creating and maintaining individual report design files for these users. Ad Hoc reports can be saved, emailed and exported to csv - all mechanisms which enable users access to the powerful V7 data for ease of decision making Based on extensive Usability Testing conducted on the initial release of the Ad Hoc Reporting Functionality at Pulse 2008, multiple enhancements were implemented in December’s 7114 Release. Each feature is targeted to enable Business Users to create their own Ad Hoc reports as quickly and easily as possible. The primary feature update has been the addition of extended field selection. This enables users to add fields to their QBR reports from multiple database tables. This functionality is enabled through a Category Hierarchy Drilldown, created from Report Object Structures. This was the highest requested enhancement feature by clients from the Usability Testing. Sorting and Grouping of report data enables the user to view data quickly and concisely in multiple categories. This was the second most requested item from clients as it enables users to efficiently view large amounts of data for their unique business requirements.

8 THE PREMIER SERVICE MANAGEMENT EVENT February 8 - 12, 2009 | Las Vegas, Nevada Ability to Cancel a QBE G
10
9 For Sys Admins: Time out setting for system administrators stops a running query after a configurable amount of time: After X seconds, a message appears letting users know they need to refine their query For End Users: New “Stop Query” button to allow users to cancel a query without having to shut down the browser Applies to filtering on List page, the More Search dialog, and the Where Clause dialog
11
10 Hitting “Stop Query” closes dialog, returns to empty List page with query showing

11 THE PREMIER SERVICE MANAGEMENT EVENT February 8 - 12, 2009 | Las Vegas, Nevada Extending Classifications to New Applications H
13
12 Extending Classifications to New Applications Ability to add classification specification and attributes to additional records like PR’s, PO’s, Job plans, etc. Attributes can be specific to an application. Attribute values can be based on values from any table.
14
13 Applying Extended Attributes in Service Requests Present and capture a set of questions and answers –in the Create Service Request Self Service Application –Drives the capture of consistent high quality information related to an issue at Level 0 (self-service user) –Combine with Quick Insert –in the Service Request Power Application –Provide a scripted list of questions for the Level 1 Agent to drive the interaction with the end User –Combine with Quick Insert

16 THE PREMIER SERVICE MANAGEMENT EVENT February 8 - 12, 2009 | Las Vegas, Nevada Launch in Context V
18
17 Launch in Context UI-based integration allows launching of external web applications passing content from a Maximo application Implemented via configuration, no coding
19
18 THE PREMIER SERVICE MANAGEMENT EVENT February 8 - 12, 2009 | Las Vegas, Nevada Conditional UI and Security G
20
19 Data Restrictions Ability to conditionally set security on individual data elements Example - Set the description attribute of the work order option to be read-only when the status of the work order is WMATL
21
20 Conditional Option Access Grant access to an application option (action) ‘sometimes’ Example - Grant a group access to the Change Status option in Work Order Tracking when the Type is ‘CM’
22
21 Security on Any Control Any control can have a Signature Option –Field –Section –Tab –Etc. Granted via security –Groups with the option see the control, groups without it do not
23
22 Conditional Properties Set control properties for a group or in a condition –Label –Color –Value list –Etc.

30 THE PREMIER SERVICE MANAGEMENT EVENT February 8 - 12, 2009 | Las Vegas, Nevada Configuration Items H
32
31 Configuration Items What is a Configuration Item? –ITIL Definition: A configuration item (CI) is any component of an information technology infrastructure that is under the control of configuration management –EAM Definition: A configuration item (CI) is any component of an asset infrastructure that is under the control of change and configuration management
33
32 Configuration Items A CI is a virtual copy of an Asset that can be subjected to engineering and design change The CI can also represent logical or virtual assets – such as software, firmware, etc. The CI and Assets can share the same classification taxonomy You can create Work Orders, Incidents, Problems, Changes, etc. on the CI CI has a status similar to Assets CIs do not have maintenance and operational capabilities like PMs, Condition Monitoring etc.. Changes to the CI do not affect the day to day operations performed by the Asset PMs, Condition Monitoring etc work as usual Once the final design change is approved on the CI, the Asset can be taken out of service to execute the change

36 THE PREMIER SERVICE MANAGEMENT EVENT February 8 - 12, 2009 | Las Vegas, Nevada Thumbnail Images G
38
37 Thumbnail Images Functionality to associate images directly to the definition of an item, service item or tool. (stored in the database, not as an attachment) Allows for quick, visual identification when searching through records. ‘View Image’ action is available on every item, service item or tool field.
39
38 Thumbnail Images Placeholders appear by default in the Item Master application Add or delete images via the Select Action Menu
40
39 Thumbnail Images Here, we’ve added a picture of the user
41
40 How To Do It In App Designer –Add “Record Image” control –Add 2 sigoptions: ITEMIMAGE and SHOWDELETE –Add ITEMIMAGE option to Select Action Menu In Security Groups –Grant access to ITEMIMAGE and SHOWDELETE for groups that are allowed to add or delete specific images In Database Configuration –Create the relationship between the app’s object and IMGLIB

41 THE PREMIER SERVICE MANAGEMENT EVENT February 8 - 12, 2009 | Las Vegas, Nevada Automated Process Flow for Work Orders H
43
42 Automated Process Flow for Work Orders Embedded “workflow-like” process in Job Plans and Work Orders Automatically ‘start’ new tasks/children when all predecessors are completed Automatically complete work orders when all tasks have been completed Allow/Disallow inheritance of start and complete status changes
44
43 Automated Process Flow for Work Orders Control the status flow of a work order based on task sequencing. Precedence logic Flow Control processing WBS hierarchy Precedence logic Flow Control processing WBS hierarchy Business rules start eligible children down the hierarchy Business rules start eligible siblings in the network Business rules complete parents when children are completed
