The encouraging response to our survey confirms tremendous enthusiasm for more contact and cooperation between scholars in China and their peers in the West. Chinese scholars urgently seek help in developing professional contacts in the West - and particularly getting their work recognized and published in peer-review journals. Librarians are well respected in their traditional role and have significant opportunities to develop new services linking Chinese scholars internationally. Chinese scholars will welcome – and expect - more help from librarians in serving their needs with respect to expanding recognition and cooperation outside China. 28 Key Conclusions
