Parents Responsibilities Environment Ensure children have a quiet environment. Teach the child how to mute the phone / audio Ensure children are participating actively / responsibly in the class Homework Encourage child do it on their own and before the deadline Grading functionality is limited. Coaches do not have cycles to grade manually Homework submitted on-time will allow coaches to understand how much students have grasped the concepts Communication with Coaches Do not interrupt the class. Please ask questions before the class starts, at the end of the class or via email. Volunteer coaches have day jobs. Responses may be delayed up to 48 hours Help Use File Support Ticket to request help regarding NSF tools, Webex logins etc.

Class Guidelines Joining Classes Join 5 Minutes before the class start time Webex credentials are in your student logins Enter your full name when you sign up for the class so the coach knows who you are If you join late, do not interrupt the class. Follow what the coach is teaching In Class Participation Participate actively and constructively in the class Have student handouts downloaded / printed prior to the class Keep your phone muted at all times. Use mute button on phone or mute icon on Webex. Use the Raise Hand icon on the tool to ask questions and/or use the chat window No irrelevant chats. Be courteous Wait for your turn to answer

Class Guidelines Class Material Class material is not shared Student handouts are available for download Recommended to have a printed copy of student handouts to do in- class excerises Study student handouts prior to the class Homework Available for download from NSF website using your student login Do it on your own Submit before the deadline. No extension of the due date. Answer keys and NOT solutions are available online after the next class (where applicable) Grading is automatic for some subjects (expect limitations of the tool) Missed Classes No makeup classes. No recording of classes

Webex Guidelines Webex Webex credentials are unique per email address. Do NOT share the credentials Requires High speed internet connection for better classroom experience Audio Telephone Dial-in (Recommended). Dial in information available from the Meeting Info page after you join the webex session Use Computer audio with headsets (only if you have reliable high speed connection) NSF and/or coach cannot troubleshoot your technology issues Classes Parents should join the first class to ensure child becomes familiar with the technology

WebEx Tips Chat Window Raise Hand (Next to the participants name) Mute(all)/ Unmute(all) Please note down the Phone Number and Meeting ID from the Meeting Info Tab to dial in. Do not start your Video ( disable camcorder icon next to your name)

Webex Troubleshooting Most Webex connection problems are typically resolved if you quit the browser and reconnect Try an alternate browser among Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Safari….
