4 Dues are required to be paid by each member in order to be recognized as an official club member and they are only required to be once per school year. This years dues total to $20 dollars to cover International and District Fees (originally $25) Dues are going to be collected now! So, please try to get them to us as soon as possible! Any check or money order should be made payable to Circle K International Early Bird Dues Deadline is HAS PASSED!!!! All dues must be collected by December 1 st, 2011 in order to be recognized by International as a club in good standing! Dues

5 This past weekend we had the privilege of sending two of our members to Baltimore, Maryland to participate in the CKI’s annual Fall Large Scale Service Project. There they worked with Ronald McDonald House by cleaning and organizing there facility. Other members where sent off to the Port Discovery Children’s Museum and worked with kids. They also help the facility set up craft projects they can use for future events. More pictures from the event can be found on are clubs and organization page as well as FACEBOOK. 6 When: November 1 st – 20 th This November our division of the capital district of Circle K International will be having a canned food drive for the soup kitchen the Lynchburg Daily Bread! The items most needed are: turkey gravy, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, and canned yams! Next meeting we will be creating donation boxes to put around campus! Also, please try to bring any food you can to our meetings! 7 Are you ready for an amazing opportunity to work with animals and make a difference? Southside SPCA is a donor-supported, no-kill animal welfare organization providing care and adoption services to homeless pets in 12 counties in south-central Virginia. Operating almost entirely with volunteers, the Southside SPCA has saved over 36,000 pets since the organization’s inception in 1975. Where: 7352 Patrick Henry Highway, Meherrin, VA 23954 When: Saturday, November 19 th from 10am to 12pm If you would like to attend please email Nicole Kvasnicka at nicole.kvasnicka@live.longwood.edu nicole.kvasnicka@live.longwood.edu We are limited to only about 6 people due to the size of the facility so if you are interest notify Nicole as soon as possible! 8 The month of November is Prematurity Awareness month and we will be showing our support with the March of Dimes by collecting money for this wonderful charity! This will take place through the entire month of November! Collection envelops will be provided! We will like to thank everyone who decided to show there support today (November 17 th ) for Prematurity Awareness Day and wear purple on campus! All members who decided to wear purple today will receive 2 hours of service hours (Your service hours are now being shown on the clubs and organization website). 9 Tonight is our membership induction and pinning! If or when you here your name called please stand up and come to the front of the room to be hand your certificate of membership and be pinned with your club pin! CONGRATS TO ALL NEW MEMBERS!!!!!!! Member Induction and Pinning

10 It is the most wonderful time of the year, and LCVA is getting ready for a fun-filled winter workshop. From glittery snowflakes and a warm fireplace to snow covered trees, the transformation of LCVA has already begun! At the workshop, children and their parents will be making their own personalized greeting cards, poinsettia flowers, glittery snowflakes, handmade gift-wrap, and a host of other wintery delights! The Longwood Center for the Visual Arts is looking for volunteers to help with their annual Winter Wonderland Free Family Workshop! They are looking for volunteers for event prep now to December 2! Also, they are looking for people to work the event on December 3 rd from 9am to 1pm! 11 The Kiwanis Club of Lynchburg is our sponsoring club and it is very important that we build a strong relationship with them! So, we will now be trying to get some of us to go to there meetings at least once a month! They meet the 1 st and 3 rd Friday of every month at 12pm at the Presbyterian Home in Lynchburg, VA Kiwanis Family Relations

12 It is time to show our club spirit with the designing and selection of the Longwood University 2011-2012 Circle K club! Tonight we will vote on our club t-shirt! Each vote will be anonymously casted and you may provide any criticism or changes you wish to see to any t-shirt on the ballot. Please put a check mark next to your selection. There is a comment box at the bottom. KEEP YOUR SELECT TO YOURSELF! When you are done the ballots will be collected. Results of the selected t-shirt will be given at our next meeting on December 1 st, 2011. Here are the T-Shirts you can vote for….. Club T-Shirt Designs

14 The shirt will be blue (to match color of the ocean) with bubbles on it! It will also have the saying “Just Keep Serving” that is similar to Dori’s saying “Just Keep Swimming from Finding Nemo

15 The text on the shirt will actually be white since the shirt will be black

16 The shirt will be black to match the PACMAN arcade theme and it will have our three tenets along with are slogan “live to serve, love to serve.” It has also been request the we flip PACMAN so we will look into that if the shirt is selected!
