CIĘŻKOWICKO - ROŻNOWSKI LANDSCAPE PARK

Ciężkowicko-Rożnowski Landscape Park was set up in 1995. It is situated in the south-eastern part of Małopolska province. It covers the area of 24 130 ha

In the Park there are many outcrops and outcrops of rock that allow observation of layers of different geological periods. In the reserve occur formed sandstones. They originally deposited as a loose material in the basin during the Tertiary. This material is due to diagenesis transformation into a rock concise.

Fauna in Ciężkowicko-Rożnowski Landscape Park By the diversity of habitat conditions that pervail in the Park stands out the richness and diversity of species. A large part of them is under strict species protection. We can mention here:

Featuring a great landscape, the park abounds with the original geological features and unspoiled forest environments. Flora contains about 900 species of vascular plants. The most valuable component of the vegetation are forest ecosystem with a high degree of naturalness. There are 40 species of protected plants. It indicates a high value nature of the park. Dominant species of trees are: beech, fir, pine and oak.
