Our Aim Our vision is to deliver a single integrated service for all benefit claimants of working age – helping those who can into work and supporting those who cannot. We want to achieve employment opportunity for all in the labour market regardless of where people live, ethnicity, age or family status.

What’s changed Jobcentre Plus is a new business within the Department for Work and Pensions. It replaces the Employment Service, which ran Jobcentres and parts of the Benefits Agency Jobcentre Plus brings together:- –Employment –Training –& Benefits advice An integrated, professional service that matches customers and individuals needs

What’s changed Highly accessible through multiple channels: –Face-to-face –Telephone advice –On-line service –Jobpoints in every office and in key places around the country All based around new offices that provide a friendly supportive and professional environment

A consistent approach to Employers We work closely with Employers to provide the right people for their vacancies We constantly develop our team to ensure they are experts on the local labour market Employers all receive 1 point of contact for their vacancy via –Vacancy Filling Manager –Field Account Managers –Employer Engagement Managers

Local Employer Partnerships Agreement is tailored to meet individual employer needs Need to ensure pledges agreed with employer are realistic Pledges may include guaranteed interviews/jobs

Recruitment We advertise Employers vacancies –In 1,000 offices throughout the UK via our job points –On the Net at www.jobcentreplus.gov.ukwww.jobcentreplus.gov.uk –Throughout Europe on our EURES database We can advise on local and national wage rates We can offer help and advice on:- –Training –Equal opportunities –Employing people with disabilities

Recruitment We can provide and send application forms on Employers behalf We can offer to sift application forms to ensure the Employers get to see the most suitable candidates for the vacancy* We can offer interviewing facilities with administrative backup to our Employers and Partners* Dedicated personnel to handle Employers vacancies * Subject to availability at your local office

Work Trials Employers can take candidates on an unpaid basis for up to 15 days. This will ascertain if the jobs right for the person and the person is right for the job All candidates expenses and meal allowances are taken care of by us Progress is monitored by the candidates dedicated personal advisor There is no cost to the Employer

Workstep Provides Subsidy towards employees wages Employed for 16hrs+ Assessed on a regular basis by adviser

Access to Work Designed to assist new or existing employees overcome their disability in the workplace Provides financial and practical help to Employers to help overcome difficulties caused by disability This can include help towards:- –Premises –Adaptations –Specialist equipment –Transport costs for the Employee Available for full or part-time vacancies

Job Introduction Scheme £75 per week for up to 6 weeks – extensions may be available Job should be for at least 26 weeks Could be full or part time

Disability symbol The Disability Symbol indicates that the company welcomes applications from disabled job seekers. It proves to existing employees that the company values their contribution and can help companies become aware of the needs of disabled customers We can offer advice and support for Employers –New legislations –Information on disabled people in the workplace –Suitable candidates for types of vacancies –Dedicated Personal Advisors

Training Route-Ways We can work with Employers and partner organisations to develop pre-employment training tailored specifically at one company or a whole sector Ensuring candidates have received the correct level of training for the job before they reach Employers Training is usually available in a whole host of area’s including:- –Construction –Health & Safety –Basic Skills

ReAct Welsh Assembly Government funded £2,500 for individuals to re-train following redundancy £2,080 employer subsidy Up to £1,000 towards employer training costs
