WHAT ARE ADJECTIVES? Adjectives are used to describe nouns. They usually come before nouns and add information about: shape, color, size, material, quality and quantity. big, beautiful, brown This is a big, beautiful, brown house. Adjectives are used to answer the following questions: Which?mobile Which? Did you lose your mobile phone? What kind? long, red What kind? I like your long, red sweater. How many? five How many? There are five girls in our group.

WHAT ARE ADVERBS? Adverbs are used to describe a verb, an adjective or another adverb. they answer the following questions. They usually come after the verb. How?quickly. (manner) How? she ran quickly. (manner) When?yesterday. (time) When? I left the house yesterday. (time) Where?here. (place) Where? I lost my glasses here. (place) How much / to what degree? very too(degree) How much / to what degree? I like you very much. It is too hot to walk (degree)
