DOCTORS - WHEN TO SUSPECT 1:5 PEOPLE INFECTED BECOME SICK 1. INDIVIDUAL WITH RELEVANT EPIDEMIOLOGIC EXPOSURE AREA OR LOCAL CASES REPORTED WITHIN 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO ONSET OF SYPMTOMS 2. TWO OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS (a). FEVER- LOW GRADE (LAST FOR 2-7 DAYS) (b) MACULOPAPULAR RASH (c). ARTHRALGIA – SMALL JOINTS OF HAND AND FEET (d). CONJUNCTIVITIS- NON PURULENT

IF PATIENT PRESENTS AFTER 4 DAYS OF SYMPTOMS DO ZIKA VIRUS IGM (SEROLOGY) NEUTROLIZING a/b TITRE > 4 TIMES THAN DENGUE VIRUS. ACUTE & CONVALESCENT SERA TO SEE INCREASE IN a/b TITRE AT INTERVAL OF 2-3 WEEKS. SEROLOGY OF DENGUE AND CHICKUNGUNIA SHOULD ALSO BE PERFORMED
