7. Youth Mental Health First Aid(YMHFA) USA First Aid Training In the United States, about 1 in 5 adolescents suffer from mental illness. As a result, Mental Health First Aid USA created a training to help people acknowledge that mental illnesses are real, common, treatable, and that it’s OK to seek help. YMHFA USA curriculum is primarily focused on information participants can use to help adolescents and transition-age youth, ages 12-18. Participants may include: family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens who work with adolescents.
