II. THE PLACE A place called Gethsemane

1.The Garden East of the city cross over Kidron Valley. Now your at Mount of Olives. Ascending just a little you are in a small garden. The garden of Gethsemane

Kidron means dark and murky Gethsemane means olive press

History begins in a garden “And the Lord planted a garden eastward in Eden and there he put the man whom he had formed” Genesis 2:8

The Picture Jesus was beaten by religious and political leaders. He was put into the Olive Press (Isaiah 53:5) Jesus is our food Jesus is our light Jesus is our medicine

Paraclete Oil often used to symbolize the Holy Ghost Calvary’s olive press caused the Holy Ghost to be poured out on the earth.

He is our sympathetic high priest. He knows your sorrow He knows suffering Our God is human too

THE SECOND MAN First Adam brought destruction to all his descendants because he rebelled against the will of God Second Adam brought deliverance to all his descendants because he submitted to the will of God
