Nouns A person,place, thing or idea.

A common noun names a person, place, or thing. Examples: dog, car, city COMMON NOUNS

A proper noun names a specific person, place, or thing. It is always capitalized. Examples: SpongeBob, Atlanta, Ford PROPER NOUNS

An abstract noun names an emotion, quality, or idea. You cannot perceive this noun through one of your five senses. Examples: love, hate, democracy, joy ABSTRACT NOUNS

CONCRETE NOUNS Concrete nouns are nouns that you can see, touch, hear, smell, or taste. They are real people, places, or things. EXAMPLES: –house –school –globe –apple

SINGULAR NOUNS Singular nouns describe ONE person, place, thing, or idea Examples: –cat –book –box –child

PLURAL NOUNS Plural Nouns describe more than one person, place, thing, or idea. Examples: puppies cars students

A collective noun names a group of individuals or animals. Examples: Army, jury, team, class COLLECTIVE NOUNS
