2. Agriculture Agriculture is the same as farming Depending on your climate, you can grow different things. Ex: Great Plains States grow wheat and corn while Brazil grows pineapples Positives of interaction: economic growth Negatives of interaction: overcultivation, soil erosion, slash & burn agriculture, surpluses

3. Industry Industry is any business activity involving trading and manufacturing If you don’t have natural resources for industry you have to find a trading partner. Positives of interaction: economic growth, higher standard of living, global power Negatives of interaction: pollution, overuse of resources, health issues for people

4. Population Population is the number of people who live in a country. Positives of interaction: development of culture, education, opportunities for economic growth Negatives of interaction: overpopulation, urban sprawl, creation of slums, disease, migration

Before & Afters Choose one of the following interactions: – Agriculture – Industry – Population On half of your paper create a drawing that illustrates what the land looked like before the human interaction. On the other half, illustrate what it would look like after. Include the positives and negatives from the notes from today.
