ASEAN Framework Agreement o the Facilitation of Inter-state Transport – AFAFIST.  AFAFIST was signed and ratified in 2009 and entered into force for the Lao PDR, Cambodia, the Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam.

A Free sample background from www.awesomebackgrounds.com Slide 9 Implementation of the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity  There are a total of 125 projects to be implemented under the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity,  As of May 2016, 37 Projects have already been implemented (35.9%)  There are still 88 projects that still need to be implemented, - 21 of which have already been included in the new Master Plan - 55 of which will be included in the appendices because these are important projects but cannot be completely implemented - the remaining 12 projects will not be included in the new Master Plan because they will not be implemented. (they are not priority projects and do not yield any economic benefit).

A Free sample background from www.awesomebackgrounds.com Slide 10  Various Protocols that we have implemented and should continue to implement:  Protocol 1 (Designation of Transit Transport Routes and Facilities): pending ratifications from Malaysia and Singapore;  Protocol 2 (Designation of Frontier Posts): to be concluded;  Protocols 3 (Types and Quantity of Road Vehicles), 4 (Technical Requirements of Vehicles), 5 (ASEAN Scheme of Compulsory Motor Vehicle Insurance) and 8 (Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures): fully ratified;

A Free sample background from www.awesomebackgrounds.com Slide 13 Conclusion  ASEAN Connectivity is a cooperation mechanism covering all sectors.  The Implementation of the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity has not brought about sufficient outcome as expected and must be improved in the new Master Plan.  Effective coordination mechanisms is a decisive factor for timely legislation making process.  cooperation with the private sector and development partners is of necessity to contribute to successful implementation of projects.
