Stage 1 - Egg They are in the stage for 3 days. On day 1 the egg is 0.132 mg and 1.2mm. On day 3 the egg is about to hatch and weighs 0.09 mg.

Stage 2 – Larva In the stage for 3 ½ days. The diet in this stage is different than other stages. They consume worker jelly, pollen, and honey.

Stage 3 – Cell Capped They are in this stage for 6 days. These cells are much different then worker bee cells because these are wider and more dome like.

Stage 4 – Pupa They are in this stage for 5-10 days. This is were they break out of there wax cell. No special diets or looks are in this stage.

Stage 5 – Developmental Period This is were they change into adult drones. As u can see, from right to left is the pupa into the adult. This lasts for 10 days.

Stage 6 - Adult This is were they sit around and are useless to the hive. Some are selected to mate with the queen, others just lie around. When they die, worker bees carry them far from the hive then drop them.
