11 Relevant Literature Literature Title Relevance to my dream job New graduate nurse transition programs: Relationships with bullying and access to support This article will help to prepare me for my first year as a graduate nurse. It provides insight on what to expect and how to deal with bullying and where to seek help. Understanding nurses’ and parents’ perceptions of family centred care Will help me to understand my role as a paediatric nurse and will assist me to see what parents feel is a ‘nurses’ task as opposed to a ‘parents’ task. Creating a Collaborative Playground: Paediatric Nurses and Physicians Improving Communication to Ensure Patient Safety This article introduced me to the idea of LEAPP, an evidence based multidisciplinary approach to paediatric procedural management that stands for Listen, Evaluate, Anticipate, Plan and Proceed. This is a model that will be helpful when communicating with patients on a paediatric ward. Time to clarify – the value of advanced practice nursing roles in health care This article presents a discussion of how important it is to provide advanced practice nursing and helps to clarify international standards of nursing titles and scopes of practice. Research priorities for nursing care of infants, children and adolescents: a West Australian Delphi study This article will provide me with an insight of what issues face children in WA hospitals according to nurses working in these hospitals. This will give me the opportunity to address these problems once I become a clinical nurse working on a paediatric ward and try to make a difference to the lives of the children, parents and nurses.

12 Conclusion Outlined and researched my dream job Completed my SWOT analysis Produced 5 PDP’s for my goals over the next 5-6 years and expanded on 1 Reviewed 5 different pieces of literature related to my goals and dream job www.paeditricnurse.com
