4. www.egi.eu EGI-InSPIRE RI-261323 Monitoring: ARC and NAGIOS ARC probes for NAGIOS have existed for quite a while –EGEE challenge was to make them compatible with the SAM framework Worked for existing ARC sites –EGI challenge is to get them moved into the current NAGIOS SAM framework Wish to have more transparent process applicable to any site wishing to install/use ARC

ARC sites currently are in the Nordic countries, Slovenia and Switzerland –Monitoring has been done primarily by NDGF-T1 for these sites OLD EGEE monitoring framework was set up to integrate these resources into Operations –Change from old SAM style monitoring to NAGIOS by CERN didn't include ARC initially –Some delay in momentum to achieve this

6. www.egi.eu EGI-InSPIRE RI-261323 Current challenges Although work has been done to have ARC Nagios probes there have been some stumbling blocks –Dialogue started with Emir back in June/July Asynchronous summer vacation came into effect too –Main developer of the ARC Nagios tests (Mattias Ellert) is in contact with CERN Nagios group

Gstat, GripMap and GridView also need to recognise ARC resources GridMap issues with display of information for ARC sites regarding publication of installed capacity Who fixes this? Is GridMap still a viable tool Gstat issues with recognising ARC resources ARC infosys BDII data flow? GridView seems to be OK

10. www.egi.eu EGI-InSPIRE RI-261323 SGAS and APEL SGAS is the accounting system developed in the Nordics –ARC works well with SGAS –Currently work is being done to integrate SGAS data into APEL DBs SGAS developers are ready to move forward –There has been difficulty in contacting the APEL developers

11. www.egi.eu EGI-InSPIRE RI-261323 Other matters? BDII? Gstat? –BDII is generally easily integrated with ARC resources –Concern with Gstat ? Have had some idiosyncracies with Gstat and ARC resources

12. www.egi.eu EGI-InSPIRE RI-261323 ARC in EGI ARC already is operational in EGI HOWEVER Resource is currently heavily focused in NDGF Need to have more general autonomous resource setup –Monitoring with generic tools, and not hosted at NDGF –Broader dissemination of ARC SEE TOMORROW's DEMO AND POSTER SESSIONS
