10 Some terms that you should remember: Physical opportunity = requires face-to-face participation Virtual opportunity = requires on-line or electronic participation Accuracy of Information agreement = You must attest that your profile, service history, and application are accurate Copyright agreement = if work products include publications a volunteer must read and agree to copyright. Not all opportunities will require this. Confidentiality agreement = volunteer must agree to the terms of PMI Confidentiality Policy. These terms will be used during the “create an opportunity” process and during the “search for an opportunity” process. 10

Add the start and end dates of the application period as well as the opportunity dates State any additional steps or actions required during the application process. 20 Additional details Specify any copyrights, additional role limitations and term limits Add search keywords (use one keyword that is common to search on) Define special instructions Add up to 3 essay questions to get more information from applicants State the number of volunteer needed When the volunteer opportunity is posted to the VRMS, the VRMS Administrator receives an email. 20

21 Extending opportunity to volunteers The coordinator will review the applicants. To select the volunteer, click the extend button The volunteer will receive an email message from VRMS asking them to accept or decline The volunteers response will trigger a change to his/her application status in VRMS An opportunity will not be marked fulfilled until all acceptances/declines have been received 21
