2. Overview: The purpose of this project is to see what characteristics of a traveler in Canada are prevalent. I will be comparing characteristics of the Canadian Population to characteristics of Canadian travelers.

3. Thesis: A person traveling within Canada is more likely to be a 50 year old, married man with a postsecondary certificate, working in a managerial position, from Ontario, traveling within Ontario.

6. Since the measures of central tendencies were very similar you can conclude that travelers of all age groups travel in proportion to the population. When analyzing the probabilities you find that you are more likely to find a 50 year old on a trip. Another observation that can be made is that you are less likely to be a traveler when you are 65 years of age or older.

7. Gender’s Relation to Travel My hypothesis that you are more likely to be a male traveler than female is correct.

8. Relationship Between Educational Attainment and Being a Traveler 46% of Canadians have a Post Secondary Certificate or University Degree. Whereas 58% of travelers have a Post Secondary Certificate of University Degree. Stating that you are more likely to travel if you have a greater educational attainment.

9. You are more likely to be a traveler if you are unemployed versus if you are just a regular Canadian. There is only a difference of 0.03 in the probability that you are in a managerial position if you are a traveler, disproving my hypothesis. Travelers are just as likely to be in that position if you are a random Canadian.

12. Conclusion Being Male: If you were to come across a traveler 53% of the time he would be male. Destination Ontario: Ontario is indeed the most popular destination, but when analyzing the fact that 89% of trips are taken intra-provincially, Ontario is the most populated province thus naturally it will have more trips taken within it. PEI on the other hand has the most out of province visitors, at 63%. Being Ontarian: If you are taking a trip to Ontario you are indeed more likely to be Ontarian within that population, but as a whole in relation to that population of Canada you are less likely to be Ontarian if you are a traveler. Being 50: When comparing the ages of Canadians to the ages of traveling Canadians you are indeed more likely to be 50 years old if selected at random than from the population of Canada. Though only by 2% showing that this relationship is very weak. Though one observation that was made is that you are less likely to be over 65 years old and a traveler, this relationship is stronger at 5%. Having a Higher Education: You are more likely to have a high school certificate or university degree if you are a traveler by 12%. Stating that education can take you places Being in a Managerial position: This one was incorrect. You are just as likely to be in a managerial position. Married: You are 8% more likely to be married if you are a traveler than if you are a regular Canadian. Though if you are married you are less likely to stay overnight on a trip. Final Score:
